Here are the goodies we made at my friend Katie G.'s workshop a little over a week ago! We had a great time, but it had been awhile since I had done a "traditional" workshop, so I know there were things I forgot to say & do, but we managed to have fun anyway!!
We started off with the above card featuring the new Thoughts & Prayers stamp set & the Top Note Sizzix Die...which just happens to be a Stampin' Up! Exclusive Die for the Sizzix Big Shot!! I don't know if you can tell in the photo, but I mounted the Kiwi Kiss DSP from the Bella Rose DSP onto a Chocolate Chip card base. I began by showing them how they could use a Blender Pen & the Kiwi Kiss Ink Refill to color the leaves on the stamp & then you could go back with the Chocolate Chip Marker for the trunk & branches on the stamp, but then I showed them how it would be much easier to first stamp the whole image in Kiwi Kiss and then go back with the Chocolate Chip Marker to color on the trunk & the branches on the stamp & then stamp the image onto your Top Note Die Cut. (Please note that this little trick only works when the 2nd color is MUCH darker than the 1st color.) I haven't seen a card "exactly" like this, but I was definitely inspired by the cards I saw in the "Thoughts & Prayers" files on www.splitcoaststampers.com .
I don't know about you, but for me, it's just not a Stampin' Up! event if there is not some sort of chocolate product at it...whether it's there for the eating or to be embellished! We wrapped regular sized Hershey Bars with the Delicate Dots DSP, Ribbon Bundle, & Yummy Stamp Set that you can earn for FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog...until March 31!! I was inspired by Patty Bennett's wrapped chocolate bars that you can find HERE.
I thought this last project was so simple & elegant when I first saw KarenG's card HERE that we just had to make it! The "Thank You" greeting comes from the stamp set "Thank You Kindly". The flower stamped image comes from the SAB stamp set "Polka Dot Punches".
So, you see all the fun we can have at a Stampin' Up! Workshop? I'd be happy to come do one with you...that is if you live in the greater Oklahoma City Metro area!
Have a great day!! Erin
