Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit Cards--Part 3

Here is the last installment of cards that we made from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit .

 

Are you sitting down?  I think I actually came up with this card ALL BY MYSELF.  You can tell it's MY design by how complex & difficult it is...tee-hee! ;)  Here is one really cool thing about this card, are you ready:  The polka dotted adhesive die cut strip that is running across the center of the card is actually two small pieces just barely long enough to be covered by the large Sizzix Scallop Circle Bigz. I used the other part of the polka dot strip on the cards below & couldn't bare to cut up the other polka dot strip for it to be covered up by the scallop, so I made do with the 3 3/4 inches worth of left-overs...so how's that for being frugal & creative?? 

 

For the card on the Left, I blatantly CASED Jeanne's beautiful card HERE in the lower right hand corner.  The only thing I did differently was to pull out the red from the polka dot adhesive die cut border strip by using the red holly circle & punching out some real red cardstock for the old olive snowflake.  I also colored the tip of the reindeer's nose with red, but I forgot to use that sample in this photo...grrr!

For the card on the right, I also blatantly CASED "pkburns" HERE.  My only tweaking was to add a little bling in the middle & to stamp a greeting instead of using the border strip!

For these 2 cards the 2nd card was identical to the ones above, so no need to show both of them.

Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit Cards--Part 2

Here's the next installment of the cards we made using the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit.

  

I gleaned this idea from Jennifer Holiday's blog HERE.  As you can see it's not an "exact" carbon copy & by flipping the DSP around & using a different ribbon, you get a totally different look.

Can you find my mistake in the second card??  I do make mistakes & I decided to just go with it!

I'll give you a hint:  Look at the length of the die cut on the Old Olive cardstock...EEK it doesn't go across the entire length of the card!!  YIKES...I accidentally cut the adhesive die cut too short...OPPS!  I guess I could have just trimmed down the card & no one would have been the wiser!

 

For the card on the Left, I CASED one of "pkburns" cards from HERE .  Although I like the original monochromatic scheme, I thought it needed just a little punching up with the real red snowflake adhesive die cut & Circle and with a little bling from the olive rhinestone brad.

For the card on the Right, I can't seem to find the card that inspired it, but it didn't end up looking much like the original anyway!

For both of these cards, we just duplicated them as is...I made these one's before the inspiration hit that I could just flip the DSP over for a different look.

Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit Cards

Here are the first couple of cards we made with the ALL NEW Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit at my Simply Scrappin' Club in August.  We made 2 each of 10 different card designs.  Enjoy!

   

This top card was inspired from Jeanne's beautiful collection of cards that you can find HERE.  I based several of my cards from her set of cards, so you will be going over there quite a bit!

We made 2 cards just like this.  After I made mine, I realized I could have flipped the DSP over to get a little bit different look...oops!

For this card, I CASEd myself HERE which was actually a CASE of Nancy Kliewer's card that you can find HERE .

The other card we did like this used the reverse side of the DSP with the little red dots & I sponged the edges with Old Olive instead of the Real Red shown here.  I'd show it to you, but the card walked off with one of my clubbers...another oops!

Just look at the previous cards above & then turn your head to the left...ah-ha!  It's the same layout, just turned on it's side!  So smart, right??

Happiness is....

 

....20 Christmas Cards COMPLETED in August!!  I know it's September, but I made these at the end of August.  My Simply Scrappin' Club girls decided they wanted to get a head start on Christmas Cards, so we took the BRAND NEW Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit and made 20 cards in one sitting!!  I wanted to make more but time was not on our side!  I am going to make some more from the left overs (there was definitely enough DSP & Adhesive Die Cuts to make more, just need to add more Cardstock) & show them when they come next month.  Stay tuned over the next couple of days & I'll show you what's in my basket!!  Have a super, stampin day!  Erin

Technique Club--Coloring on Stamps with Markers

 

 

Not only did my Stampin' Friends get the joy of inking up this beautiful stamp, but they got a FREEBIE technique on this card with Top Note Square that they made using the Top Note Die.  I got the idea for this card from a swap I received from Gretchen Barron which you can see HERE (Her card is the very last one on the post, so just keep scrolling down).  Gretchen has a great tutorial on her blog which you can find HERE.  Hmmm? And what do you know...my card looks surprisingly like Gretchen's card...Hmmm?   Why mess with perfection...right?  I did rotate it AND I used different ribbon AND I added 2 little rhinestone brads...see, I didn't totally CASE it!!

Technique Club--Rolling Marbles

 

 

Rolling Marbles...what a fun technique!  This is something you could even do with your little kiddos & they will think you are THE BEST & MOST FUNNEST PERSON EVER!

SUPPLIES:

STAMP SET: Animal Stories, Family Phrases

INK, MARKERS & REFILLS: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Basic Black

CARDSTOCK: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

EXTRA:  Empty Stamp Box; 6 Marbles (or so); Crushed Curry & Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon (I obvioulsy have the underside showing because I thought it looked way too busy to have dots showing with all that crazy marbled background); Horizontal Punch; Stampin' Dimensionals

Tailor Made Simply Scrappin' Kit

For my June Simply Scrappin' Club we used the Tailor Made Simply Scrappin' Kit.  We've done quite a few "flowery & girlie" pages, so we wanted to be sure we had some masculine pages for the boys & men in our lives!  Once again I have put suggested photo size & placement guides directly onto the pages. 

 

I was inspired to make the above pages from a layout that I saw on fellow Control Freak Kim Van Diepen's blog which you can find HERE.  There is room for up to 6-4x6 photos & plenty of room to journal on the Sizzix Top Note Die Cut Outs (which is only available through Stampin' Up!)....the photos will overlap the Top Note Die Cut Outs just a little bit.  As a side note, I just read her most current post & found out that at the Stampin' Up! Convention she was announced as the #2 Demonstrator for the Year AND she was selected to be one of the members of the Advisory Board!  Way to go, Kimberly!!

 

I love being able to put LOTS of photos on a page, so I hope you are enjoying the wide open spaces on these pages.  I cannot for the life of me find the original pages that inspired me to make these pages, but I did find another set of pages that had the exact same layout & you can find it HERE.  I don't know if these pages might have been from a sketch challenge, which would explain the similarities from the original one I CASED & the one I linked to above.  Anywhoo...on to the next set of pages!

 

These pages were taken straight from the Tailor Made Simply Scrappin' Kit product insert page.  Stampin' Up! pays people to create cool layouts, so why not just go with it??  No need to reinvent the wheel...er, scrapbook page, right?

Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin' Kit--Scrap Club

Here are the pages that we made at my Simply Scrappin' Club last week.  We used the Happy B-Day Simply Scrappin' Kit...which is brand-spankin' new in Stampin' Up!'s 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog!  I've tried something new:  Since I don't have photos on these pages yet, I have added some photo size & placement guides on them.  Let me know if this helps you out or distracts you.  Don't forget that you can click on the photos to see them larger.

 

I was inpsired by Mandy Grant's Layout on her site www.l-inkedtogether.com  I used the new Sizzix Scallop Square Die to cut out the Large Brocade Blue Scalloped Squares...quick & easy!!  I wasn't sure that I wanted all these pages to be actual birthday pages, so I left the "b" off of the "b-day", but there is plenty of room for me to add it if I need to.   My hubby tightened up the security on our home computer, so now some of my sites are blocked...this being one of them, so I am posting her original layout here & I've given you the link above to her site.

   

The following three layouts were all from sketches I received as part of an online class Got Sketch 102.  You can find out more about the Got Sketch online classes HERE  You can even purchase some of their classes as an instant download!!

 

I used the BRAND NEW Stampin' Up! Exclusive Sizzix Simple Letters Bigz Dies to punch out the "happy b-day" letters from the DSP in the kit.  The Large Ruby Red Star above & the Large White Star below are from the Sizzix Stars #2 Original Die.  The Crushed Curry Stars are from Stampin' Up!'s Star Punch.

 

I used the Taffy Alphabet on the "celebrate today!" title above, and I used the Varsity Alphabet on the "FRIENDS" title below....of course after I put it all together, I realized the title might also appear to say "FINS RED" (tee-hee), but trust me, it definitely says "FRIENDS".  So as not to waste all that beautiful DSP under the Certainly Celery Textured Card Stock, I trimmed out a large square on both sheets.  From the back it looks more like a frame.  Now I can use that DSP on another project.

 

I hope you have enjoyed my last several postings with the Happy B-day Simply Scrappin' Kit!  By the way, I just wanted to let you know that I only used ONE kit to make these 4 sets of pages & the 2 clipboards!!  There was plenty of DSP to go around & then some!  (Okay, I did use some extra white for the titles & some extra brocade blue for the scallop squares, but it was the DSP that I was using on the clipboards.  I would have had to use the extra white & brocade even if I hadn't made the clipboards.)  And I have LOTS of Adhesive Die Cuts left over to add to my pages when I put on the pictures & to use on other projects.  These Simply Scrappin Kits are such a great value!!

Technique Club Watercolor Wonder Crayons

 

No you aren't seeing something strange in the above card.  Each flower on the above card was done using a different Watercolor Crayon Technique listed below.

 

 

For the "real" card, I decided to color the crayon directly to the stamp, mist it & then stamped the center flower.  I did not re-apply the crayon to the other two flowers, so that I could create slightly lighter color effect each time I stamped it.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing the cards we have been making in my Techniques Card Club!!  Erin
